AMEA Scholarship applications are available | Business
Students graduating from high school in the spring of 2012, whose households receive their electricity from an Alabama Municipal Electric Authority (AMEA) Member, could qualify for a $2,500 scholarship. These scholarships are available to students who will be attending an Alabama college, university, technical or vocational school after graduation.
Each year the AMEA and its 11 member cities offer up to 33 scholarships, each worth $2500. In 2011, the AMEA awarded $82,500 in scholarships to students throughout the state.
Applications are now available and can be downloaded from the following link. Students can also obtain applications from their school counselors. Applications will be reviewed and the winners will be selected by an independent panel of Montgomery area college guidance personnel.
The application deadline is Monday, February 6th. Applications must be postmarked by this date in order to be eligible. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
For more information, contact AMEA's Scholarship Program Coordinator at 800-239-2632 ext. 110 or 334-387-3504 or email her at pam@amea.com
