Dothan woman 'played' over game | Crime

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - A Dothan woman looking for a game got played when a thief took her money and ran.

According to the Dothan Police Department, officers were called to a theft complaint in the Dothan Mall parking lot. When they arrived they found a woman who admitted she'd agreed to play a game, but this wasn't how it was supposed to turn out.

The woman explained to officers that she agreed to play a "cup game" with a man who she did not know - she would put money under one of a series of cups, he would shift the cups around, and if she picked the right cup, she would win $100. When she pulled out a hand full of cash to play the game, the man grabbed the money and ran.

Dothan Police say there was no force or weapon used during this incident, and no injuries were sustained. They will continue to investigate any leads that come in on this incident.
