Dothan PD: Cruelty to Animals arrest

On April 7th, 2011, Dothan Police Department investigators alerted the Animal Services Division to a possible Cruelty to Animals situation. Animal Services staff responded to the residence in the 100 block of Woods Dr. and found three puppies and one adult dog tied in the back yard with no food, water or shelter. All of the dogs were malnourished and severely infested with fleas, one puppy had severe bruising and a large wound half way around his neck from improper collar usage. All four were impounded by the Animal Services and the pet owner was arrested.

 

  • David Jeffery Paul, black male, 51 years of age, of Woods Drive was arrested and charged with four counts of Second Degree Cruelty to Animals (Class A Misdemeanor).
