DOTHAN, AL - On August 12, 2013 the Dothan Police and Fire Department responded to 201 East Newton Street in reference to a structure fire.
When fire units arrived, heavy smoke and flames were visible from the home and could be seen quickly spreading through the structure. The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature.
The subsequent investigation was conducted by the Dothan Arson Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of members of the Dothan Fire Marshal’s Office and investigators from the Dothan Police Criminal Investigation Division.
After a thorough investigation, the Dothan Arson Task Force has now charged Larry Johnson with second degree arson. Johnson was taken into custody on September 20, 2013 and his arrest now brings this case to a close.
Johnson, 49, of North Range Street was arrested and charged with second degree Arson.
A bond amount has been set at $30,000.
