Dothan man arrested on charges of receiving stolen property

On April 5, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent investigation of a motor vehicle breaking and entering compliant. Investigators say Rodney Watson was found to be in possession of an electronic device that was taken from the victim’s vehicle earlier in the day. The property was recovered and Watson was arrested, bringing this case to a close.

Rodney Lester Watson, black male, 47 years of age, of Virginia Drive was arrested and charged with second degree receiving stolen property. Watson’s bond has been set at $2,500.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Dothan Police seek whereabouts of woman WANTED for fraudulent use of a credit card

The Dothan Police Department needs your help in locating Heather Turner who is wanted on charges of fraudulently using a credit card that did not belong to her.

Police are asking anyone with information on Turner’s whereabouts to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 334-793-7000.

Heather Nicole Turner is a white female, 23 years of age. Turner stands at 5 feet 3 inches and weighs 250 pounds.

Dothan police arrest man wanted on burglary charges

On April 8, 2013 Calvin Cochran Jr. was taken into custody on a first degree Burglary charge. Investigators say on April 2, 2013 Cochran, Cortavious Byrd and Gerald Birmingham Jr. forcefully entered a home on Mona Drive and robbed the occupant at gun-point. On April 3, 2013 Byrd and Birmingham were taken into custody while Cochran Jr. remained at large. Cochran’s arrest now brings this case to a close.

Calvin Earl Cochran, black male, 18 years of age, of Headland, Alabama was arrested and charged with first degree Burglary. A bond amount has been set at $350,000.
 

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Dothan woman arrested and charged with forgery and fraudulent sue of a debit/credit card

On April 3, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following the investigation of a forgery complaint. Investigators say Andrea Wilson took a debit card and personal checks from the victim without permission. Wilson then cashed two of the checks after forging the victim’s signature and used the debit card for personal gain. Wilson’s arrest now brings this case to a close.

Andrea Lynette Wilson, white female, 46 years of age, of E Selma Street was arrested and charged with second degree forgery and fraudulent use of a debit/credit card. A $2,500 bond has been set on each charge.

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Dothan police seek identity of suspect in Hilton Inn robbery

On April 10, 2013 the Dothan Police Department responded to the Hilton Garden Inn located at 171 Hospitality Lane in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m.

Investigators say a subject wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black hat entered the building and demanded the employee give them money from the business, while holding the victim at gun-point. The suspect left the location in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the suspect to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 334-793-7000.

Books-A-Million manager arrested for employee fraud

On April 4, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent theft investigation. Investigators say Sara Knight used her position as the general manager of Books-A-Million to clock her friend in as an employee, who was never employed with the business. An internal investigation was conducted by the business and showed that between January 7 and March 27, 2013 Knight took approximately $1,300.00. Knight’s arrest now brings this case to a close.

  • Sara Michelle Knight, white female, 30 years of age, of Slocomb, Alabama was arrested and charged with second degree Theft of Property. Knight’s bond has been set at $2,500. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Two arrested, one sought in residential burglary

On April 3, 2013 the Dothan Police Department made two felony arrests following the recent investigation of a Burglary that occurred the previous day. Investigators say on April 2, 2013 Cortavious Byrd, Gerald Birmingham Jr. and Calvin Cochran Jr. forcefully entered a home on Mona Drive, robbed the occupant at gun-point and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before leaving the residence. Investigators have arrested Byrd and Birmingham and are now seeking the assistance of the community in locating Cochran Jr.

  • Cortavious Jamar Byrd, black male, 20 years of age, of Kinsey, Alabama was arrested and charged with first degree Burglary. His bond has been set at $350,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
