Dothan contractor believed to have been electrocuted | News
On August 9, 2012 The Dothan Communications Center received a 911 call in which the caller reported of a man experiencing a medical emergency at 617 Webb Road. Upon arrival, firefighters from the Dothan Fire Department found an unresponsive adult male beneath the structure. The caller stated the man was hired by the landlord as an independent contractor to work on the air conditioning system in the home.
Following standard procedures, medics cut power to the structure at a local breaker box and requested Dothan Utility Workers respond to assist ensuring the entire scene was safe for anyone traveling through the area.
The victim was pulled from beneath the structure after which immediate medical attention was given as EMS transported him to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Upon arrival, the victim was pronounced deceased.
The Dothan Fire Department and Dothan Police Department are investigating the death and says an electrocution is most likely to have induced the injuries to which the victim succumbed however a full investigation and autopsy will be ordered to confirm the cause of death. At this time the identity of the victim will not be released until appropriate notification for family can be made.
