According to a release issued by the Dothan Police Department, authorities responded to the report of a kidnapping at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center located at 1108 Ross Clark Circle at 1:05 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee of the Department of Human Resources who stated that she transported 15-year-old Ailene Lander to the medical center for an appointment. While at the office, the worker and Lander were approached by the victim's step-father, 36-year-old Charles Partin.

Partin took Lander to a van and proceeded to exit the parking lot.

Lander is currently legally under the care of DHR for unspecified reasons due to an ongoing investigation.

Lander is described as a white female, 15 years of age last seen wearing a white see-through shirt and pink gym shorts.

Partin is described as a white male, 36 years of age last seen wearing a baseball cap, dark colored shirt and dark jeans.
