ABI investigating after woman injured in officer involved shooting in Kinsey | News

KINSEY, AL (WSFA) - Authorities have confirmed that one person has been injured following an officer involved shooting in Kinsey.

Few details are known at this time. All authorities would initially confirm was that Kinsey Officers were involved in a shooting following a chase that started on Lynn Jarvis Road. A female suspect was stopped at Walden Drive where the shooting occurred.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist with the case due to the fact that it is an officer involved shooting. ABI officials say there was a home invasion robbery in Kinsey. When police officers arrived at the scene, the subject ran to a car and fled the scene. In the course of the chase the subject was shot and is now being treated at a local hospital.

The Houston County Sheriff's Department has now taken over the robbery investigation. The ABI is investigating the officer involved shooting.
