Fort Rucker soldier drowns in post lake | News

FORT RUCKER, AL (WSFA) - Authorities at Fort Rucker are now identifying the soldier whose body was found on Lake Tholocco over the weekend.

Pvt. Cody Hendrickson, 34, of Bountiful, Utah had been missing since falling out of a motor boat Saturday evening.

His body was discovered on the lake, which is located on Fort Rucker, Sunday.

Hendrickson was assigned to 1st Bn., 13th Avn. Rgt. and was currently participating in Advance Individual Training, according to Fort Rucker officials. He'd just entered the Army in January.

The lake reopened Tuesday after being closed for the search. The incident remains under investigation.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, June 6.
